Organizational Excellence Series Kicks Off with a Lean Talk

On Feb. 23, Maria Anguiano, vice chancellor of planning and budget, and Ron T. Coley, vice chancellor of business and administrative services, kicked off the Organizational Excellence series with a talk by Mark McKenzie titled “Lean Process at the University of Washington.” The series, which seeks ways to improve UCR’s campus operations and procedures, consists of four interactive presentations exploring different methodologies which include presentations by a guest speaker (about 60 minutes), Q&As (about 30 minutes), and workshops (about 75 minutes).

Omar Reid of the city of Houston will present the third session of UCR’s Organizational Excellence Speaker Series at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14 at the Highlander Union Building. This is the third in a series of four presentations hosted by Maria Anguiano, vice chancellor of planning and budget, and Ron T. Coley, vice chancellor of business and administrative services. The goal is to bring to UCR a view into the different ways other organizations are improving their operations and procedures.

Fourth Organizational Excellence Speaker Takes the Stage on May 11

Mara Fellouris, executive director of the UC San Francisco Program Management Office, will present the fourth session of UCR’s Organizational Excellence Speaker Series at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 11, at the Highlander Union Building Room 302. Fellouris, whose experience in UCSF involves implementing administrative systems, improving the process of operations, and strategic and organizational change, among others, will talk about leading her campus’ Program Management Office.

UC Riverside staff, faculty and students have heard four speakers describe best practices in organizational efficiency in a lecture series brought to campus by Ron T. Coley, vice chancellor of business and administrative services, and Maria Anguiano, vice chancellor for planning and budget. Now it is time to pull together a conversation about the way forward for UC Riverside’s infrastructure. A culminating conversation is set for 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26 in HUB 302.
